Kristy Lee Cook is Early ‘Idol’ Favorite
Until Kristy moved to Texas a few years ago to pursue her music career, she was living in a log-cabin style home, surrounded by pine trees, in Selma, Oregon, and riding her horse, Midnight, almost every day. Putting Midnight, an Arabian, through her paces usually meant jumping, racing, and swimming in the river…most of which Kristy did bareback.
All-American and loves to ride bareback? What is not to love about Kristy and her chances on Idol?

I was ready to crown her too but then I found out in 2001 she signed a deal with a record company. I tink she has a very smart publicist who is weaving the “girl who lives in the sticks” profile when she really was a professional singer with a major label company at age 17. Let’s move on to those people who have not had the chance she’s already had.
Looks to me, after looking her up on the web that she was not hiding any of this from anyone, it is on her myspace, and every where else you look on the net. However how many of us knew about her before the American Idol? Give the girl a break I think she has an amazing voice and should be able to have the same opportunities as everyone else. And as far as the living in the sticks part…she has lived there since she was 9. So yeah that does entitle her to that profile.

Kristy, as we all know, lived in Texas. What may not be known is she first moved to Nashville, signed by Britney Spears’ Promotional Label and RMG Records (2 major labels) and has a CD titled “Devoted” in 2001. That’s six years ago. She’s a nice girl but has only been living in Music City and Texas for the past 6 years. Selma for 8 years and cities for 6, can’t be classified as “from the sticks” and has a MAJOR professional advantage over most contestants. She’s also dating a landscaper from Selma, and wasn’t single when she left. Whether she still has her publicist is unknown, but it’s clear she’s trying to pull off the “small town girl next door” act. The whole cage fighting thing, and selling a horse to get to Philly—straight BS. That gym we saw her playing in is not in Selma, Cave Juntion, Grants Pass, or Medford. More likely right there in Philly.
Actually your wrong… She never lived in Nashville but she did travel there, and she has not lived in Texas for almost 2 years. She did sell her horse to get there it happened to be one she bought in Texas and trained, then sold it for the trip to Philly, she travel out of her home town to do certain things, her town is small so at times she has to travel. Call it a buisness meeting.
She also trains for cage fighting. Whats wrong with that?
And obviously you havnt paid much attention to the other contestants…there are several who have CD’s out or had been sign at some point.

I agree. If she has talents, good for her. I’ll be looking forward to hearing more of Kristy on AI. So what if she has her own album from years ago? It’s not like she’s a big artist who has thousands and millions of devoted fans (no pun intended :P). I seriously doubt it’ll affect the outcome of the show much.
Eleven of the 24 remaining contestants have worked with a record lable, so we can’t punish her for that. They’re going for talent over the freak show contestants this year, and I’m all for it.

Kristy Will Not win David will win as millions of little teen girls are voting for him. But I do believe that she will be a 2nd or maybe a 3rd… She really does have a great voice, and can sing country like I can drive a car. She is great and a true COUNTRY SINGER !!! KRISTY WE ARE HERE WITH YOU IN WEST VIRGINIA…

When AI7 is long gone, and everyone moves on,no matter how far Kristy Lee Cook goes she has proven to the country western world and to the Hollywood circuit that she will become the most successful of this years contestants. She is the total package! Her performance this past week of “Anyway” belongs in the top 10 of all time Idol performances.

However, when it comes to Oregon native/American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook? Honey, the gloves are coming off! For those unfamiliar with this season of AI, Kristy Lee is a country-fried blonde bombshell who has slithered her way into the talent competition’s top 10. Why are we bringing this up? Because it is now up to all Oregonians to… STOP VOTING FOR KRISTY LEE COOK! Here’s why she should be sent back to shoveling horse shit on her Selma, Oregon, farm: On tonight’s particularly horrific episode, Kristy Lee sang a faux-stirring rendition of the jingoistic Lee Greenwood tune “God Bless the USA” (sample lyric: “I’m proud to be an American/Where at least I know I’m free.” Ugh!). This will undoubtedly keep her in the competition for another month thanks to votes from the beer-swilling trailer park demographic, who falsely believe that a vote for Kristy is a vote against Osama bin Laden… and France. SECONDLY, on Kristy Lee’s American Idol profile page she is asked, “Who is the person that you would most like to meet,” to which she responds, “Jesus, James Franco, John Hagee.” We have no problem with the first two, though George Clooney is clearly a superior choice to a guy with nails in his palms. Our problem lies with Kristy Lee’s third choice, the Reverend John Hagee. As you may or may not know, the Rev. Hagee is a highly paid televangelist who also believes that (a) America should make a preemptive military strike against Iran, (b) J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter is contemporary witchcraft, (c) abortions and homosexuality are immoral, (d) Catholicism is a “Godless theology of hate,” (e) the Qur’an contains a “scriptural mandate to kill Christians and Jews,” and (f) Hurricane Katrina was “the judgment of God against New Orleans.” We have no idea how he feels about George Clooney—but if his other views are any indication, they probably wouldn’t get along. SO LISTEN UP, OREGON! A vote for Kristy Lee Cook is a vote for those who idolize narrow-minded bigots—and who wants an American Idol like that?
