John Edwards Busted with Mistress Rielle Hunter in L.A.
UPDATE: John Edwards Admits Affair, Denies Love Child
The National Enquirer is reporting they have busted potential Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, and their love child.
The married ex-senator from North Carolina - whose wife Elizabeth continues to battle cancer — met with his mistress, blonde divorcée Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night, July 21 - and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER was there! He didn’t leave until early the next morning.
Rielle had driven to Los Angeles from Santa Barbara with a male friend for the rendezvous with Edwards. The former senator attended a press event Monday afternoon with L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on the topic of how to combat homelessness.
But a months-long NATIONAL ENQUIRER investigation had yielded information that Rielle and Edwards, 54, had arranged to secretly meet afterward and for the ex-senator to spend some time with both his mistress and the love child who he refuses to publicly acknowledge as his own.
We reported the alleged affair between Edwards and Hunter back in December of last year.
Here is how the Enquirer says that caught Edwards red-handed with Hunter last night at the Hilton:
Said Butterfield: “Edwards was not carrying anything. He walked in alone. He was wearing a blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was looking around nervously before he entered the hotel.
“Once inside, he interestingly bypassed the lobby and ducked down a side stairs to go to the bottom floor to catch the elevator up - rather than taking the elevator in the main lobby. He went out of his way not to be seen.”
Meanwhile, Rielle had reserved rooms 246 and 252 under the name of the friend who had accompanied her from Santa Barbara, Bob McGovern. Rielle was in one room and McGovern was in another with her baby. This allowed her and Edwards to spend time alone, a source revealed.
Edwards went out of the hotel briefly with Rielle, they were observed by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER and then went back to her room, where he stayed until attempting to sneak out of the hotel unseen at 2:40 a.m. (PST). But when he emerged alone from an elevator into the hotel basement he was greeted by several reporters from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
Edwards is on the short list of candidates to become Barack Obama’s running mate for this November’s Presidential election.

She wants this to come out, she wants John to admit to the relationship. I don’t blame her. I’m sorry for Elizabeth. She was the brain behind the man. Elizabeth got sick and had to focus on herself rather than him. She lost his attention and he is an insensitive narcissist who is incapable of understanding how to use a condom.
wow. it was rumored that he was having flings when he was a senator. i’m sure with elizabeth’s chemotherapy and gaining weight and hair loss, the last thing on her mind was sex. so he looked somewhere else. also, after 30 years of marriage, i’m sure things die down. i guess he figured because of rielle’s age, she wouldn’t get pregnant. what an idiot. i’m sure elizabeth knows the truth since she’s rather smart, but only having a few years to live has to be tough for her. now her kids have a bastard sibling!

Elizabeth is older than John…She’s overweight and dowdy…not particularly pretty. They never looked right together even before she got sick, since he is still boyishly handsome and meticulously in shape for his age. Even before this, I was thinking that if his wife passed from the cancer, he would have a new, slim, blonde younger woman in under a year.
Men are slaves to that “thing”, what can I tell you? I’m just amazed that he didn’t protect himself and his wife by using a condom, especially given the woman’s age. The kid is his…all signs point to that being the case–no name on birth certificate, third party payments, her refusal to take a DNA test….Come onnnn….And he sat there with lawyerly word choices and lied on Nightline, except, given his demeaner and body language, no one was buying it. He asked for this. And I don’t believe for a minute that his wife knew in 2006. I’m sure looking at him blush and flirt with “camera girl” in that video must turn her stomach. Despite smart, accomplished, loving wives at home, men still have an adolescent weakness for air-headed bimbos.
McCain’s affair with the blonde lobbyist got no traction because she didn’t have a kid by him and she refused to talk…lucky him. Also…his wife publicly believed him. Of course Cindy was the paramour when he was married the first time. Suffice it to say, Bill Clinton notwithstanding, Edwards doesn’t have a corner on extramarital cheating. And so many simply haven’t been caught…The level of risk these guys take is breathtaking.
