Illegal Alien Halloween Costume Scandal
A new really distasteful Halloween Costume named “Illegal Alien”, which includes a alien mask with a green card and an orange jumpsuit with “illegal alien” written across the front, is causing a lot of controversy because it has been considered not only offensive to immigrants but also racist.
“He didn’t just cross a border, he crossed a galaxy!” according to the costume’s description. “He’s got his green card, but it’s from another planet! Sure to get some laughs, the Illegal Alien Adult Costume includes an orange prison-style jumpsuit with ‘Illegal Alien’ printed on the front, an alien mask and a ‘green card.’”
Angelica Salas, executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, has written emails to Target stores and costume companies to stop selling the offensive ‘illegal alien’ costume, describing it as “distasteful, mean-spirited, and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform.”
The ‘illegal alien’ has already been taken of Target’s website after it received several complaints. Tell us in the comments what do you think about this ‘Illegal Alien’ costume: harmless joke or discriminatory??

Hilarious. I’d be proud to wear it. If a person is offended by this costume, there’s not telling what other harmless funny costumes will get her goat up in arms. Please explain how it could possibly be, what did you call it? Discriminatory? Gosh darn it, it’s a freaking halloween costume. If you aren’t an illegal alien, how the hell can you be offended? Unless you like being offended by anything/everything that doesn’t match your own sufficating little worldview, that is.
It’s not offensive to me. Hello, this is a very funny costume with the alien mask taking the comedy even a notch further. Target you should put this costume up again in ur website, Im sure it’s gonna sell like hotcakes & burritos! Freakin’ illegal alien sympathizers just can’t get enough of the spotlight.
