Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson debuted his newly shaved head at the 38th Annual People’s Choice Awards (PCAs) held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday (January 11)- see video below.

The 25 year-old British actor went on stage to received the award for favorite Movie Drama for the movie “Water For Elephants” from the hands of his Twilight co-star Ashley Greene. Rob gave an “eloquent” acceptance speech:

“Thank you very much. I don’t know why they asked me to accept it because it’s really a lot of other people as well,” he said.

“When I was doing this movie, I was having so much fun doing it that I was saying to everyone I didn’t even care if anyone saw it. But now that people have seen it and they’re giving awards for it, I’m even more thankful for the whole experience, so thank you guys very much.”

Of course, Kristen must be devastated by the rumors she is getting cheated on while she is away because there’s absolutely nothing she can do about it. “There’s a version where it was really intense,” recalls Pattinson in this week’s EW. “Cinematically, cut all together, it’s awesome,” says Kristen Stewart. “But we didn’t really do that scene. ”

“And when we did,” adds Pattinson, “they kept telling us to stop.”

The steamy Edward/Bella honeymoon sex scene was not the only scene they had to tone down in order to keep the PG-13 rating. At the end of the movie, Bella will give birth to their special half-human/half-vampire baby in a very intense and gory scene.

“That’s what I’m really disappointed about — and I’ve talked about it with Bill,” says Stewart. “It was more sympathetic or something when I played the scene with less energy, and it made it easier for him to tell the story. But in the book, Bella is screaming, ‘NOOOOO!’ [Stewart stands and demonstrates.] And I did it like that — crazy and Exorcist-like. I was going for this weird mix of turning into the most feral mother you can imagine and also fighting for my own life. I mean, I was a nutcase. I was an absolute nutcase.”

“I do still love the birth scene,” says Lautner. “I know it’s frustrating that some things aren’t in there.”

“Yeah,” says Stewart, “I still love it too.”

“The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest. So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married,” Pattinson joked at a press conference in Stockholm, Sweden.

OH. EM. GEE. Twi-hards rejoice all over the world. RPattz and K-Stew actually went through all the “marriage rituals” and the priest did in fact say “I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride”. So when it comes to the eyes of the big Gee, Kristen and Robert are a couple in the most biblical sense of the word.

Anyhow, since a Twilight press conference would not be complete without the typical “we want to know all about those steamy sex scenes” questions, Robert said it was both awkward and uncomfortable.

“The sex scenes were difficult,” says Pattinson, “The set was crazy and you have about 20 people in the room and someone saying things like, ‘No, Bella would not have made that noise. Can we do it again?’”

“Kristen and I were both worried about how the shape of our bodies would look on camera. We felt vulnerable,” he admits.

Robert is way too smart for his own good. The 25 year-old actor pointed out the whole Twilight Saga is like a big PSA for abstinence and the consequences of actually having sex with the one you love (or anybody else for that matter). Plus, the vampire/human hot sex only starts AFTER marriage. That’s so lame…

“I’ve never been able to relate to that fear of sex or sexuality. It’s funny that all three movies portray sex as something scary and then, when they have sex in the fourth movie, they have a child with really rather devastating consequences. I’m not sure what they are trying to say…never have sex with anyone ever?”

Those two minutes are pretty intense – there are lots of romance, a scared vampire lover, and extremely angry werewolves. Bella’s plans to be transformed after the honeymoon are ruined by the life quickly growing in her womb, which ultimately threatens to kill her from the inside out.

Absolutely incredible! We also get a glance at the highly anticipated birth scene during which Bella will die to give birth to her and Edward’s baby and be transformed into a vampire.
