Reggie's New Home

Reggie is likely to wear #25 with the Saints.  It appears the NFL won't grant his request to wear #5.

REGGIE BUSH is a SAINT.  The New Orleans Saints drafted or accepted the gift from the Texans with the #2 pick in the draft.  BUSH is exactly what the Saints and New Orleans community needs.

The Draft is today.  Will Reggie go #1 to the Texans or Mario Williams.  No Reggie for the Texans.  Will Reggie go to the Saints or will they trade the pick?

ESPN is reporting that the Houston Texans and Mario Williams have reached a deal and will be the #1 pick in tomorrows NFL Draft.  Will the Saints now draft Reggie Bush or trade the pick?

The Houston Texans have signed North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams to a six-year, $54 million deal, making him the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft Saturday

Of the $54 million, Williams is guaranteed $26.5 million.

The choice of Williams by the Texans could dramatically alter the landscape of the early segment of the first round. The New Orleans Saints, with the second choice, have indicated they would snap up Bush if he fell to their slot. But the Saints had hinted, in general, that they might entertain trade offers for their pick.   posted 6:19am by jholmes

Reggie finally announces that he is turning pro and for the land of NFL riches.

Congrats Reggie on winning the 2005 Heisman Trophy by a historic margin.  Best of luck against the Texas Longhorns in the Rose Bowl.

Report:  Reggie Bush to turn pro, being advised by Reebok representative.

Reggie Bush, the junior running back (do-it-all-guy), for the University of Southern California is having an amazing year.  Bush was one of the five finalists flown to New York for the Heisman presentation last year.  The trophy went to teammate Matt Leinart.  Reggie is the national favorite for the award this year and to this point in the season.  Lets help spread the word and help Reggie win the award this year.

Be sure to vote in the poll at the top of the page for who you think should win this years Heisman trophy award from the New York City Athletic Club.  Reggie could have won the award last year, if it had not been for the superb year of Matt Leinart.  Bush should be the forerunner, especially after his monster game against Notre Dame.  Feel free to give your opinions on the Bumpshack Message Board.

Reggie had a very solid half of a game against Stanford on Saturday.  Bush played about half the game.  Vince Young of Texas played the entire game as Texas was up 63-0.  Not much class, but what else do you expect from a Mack Brown program.

Neither Reggie nor Matt had a super stats game against California, but thy don't really have to when they are rolling by teams and are so talented.  I do not think either of the two gained any ground on Vince Young this week for the award.

Just got in from the Coliseum. Best home game of the year for sure as the Trojans pulled out a tough win 50-42 over Fresno State.  Reggie Bush had his best game ever for the Trojans.  Bush ran for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He also caught 3 balls for 68 yards to lead the team, and   had 151 yards in kick returns for a total for 511 All-Purpose yards.  The mark set an all-time USC record for total yards in a game.

More on Bush's Electrifying 513 yard game against Fresno.

Quotes from Reggie:

"I expect great things out of myself. I expect to make great plays, great moves. In my mind, I can never be good enough...It just comes with the territory of making the most of what God has given you. I'm just trying to make the most out of a blessing I was given."

"I don't really look at other people's moves and copy them because, when I'm on the field, I'm not going to remember them. It's just something that has a lot to do with instinct and vision and all those running back aspects that you have. You put them all into a basket, and you just use them on the field and go out there and make plays."

"A punt return is almost like freedom of speech. You get to go out and do whatever you want. It's not a set-up play. You go out and catch the ball and do something for your team. I do what I want. You can't get in trouble. I like doing that. I just get to go out there and express me, my athleticism, my personality, the type of player I am."
